The Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada strive to provide quality care and developmental building blocks for children three to five years old. We are currently accepting applications for newborns to 5 years old for our upcoming locations in Carson City & Carson Valley.

Smart Start Philosophy
The mission of BGCWN's Smart Start is to provide an age-appropriate environment that meets the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs and abilities of each child. In doing so, we seek to inspire and enable the healthy development of all young children, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential in life.
Our curriculum is derived from the Nevada Department of Education’s Pre-Kindergarten standards. Through planned activities and consistent daily schedules, as well as a safe and caring environment, our staff meet each child at their individual creative, emotional, intellectual, physical, and social needs to assist them on their developmental path. By providing a variety of hands-on activities and experiences to encourage exploration, manipulation, problem solving, and sharing, each child is given a sense of empowerment and self-control.
Russell Center Smart Start
1870 Russell Way, Carson City, NV 89706 - Inside the Carson City Clubhouse
- Members must be between the ages of 3 to 5 years.
- All children must be potty trained.
- Hours of Operation: 7 AM - 5 PM, Monday - Friday
- Lunch and a snack are provided daily.
- Spots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

North Carson Center Smart Start
2323 North Carson Street, Carson City, NV 89706 - Previously Creativity Corner
- Members must be between the ages of newborn to 3 years old.
- Hours of Operation: 6:45 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday
- Spots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

COMING SOON: Thompson Center Smart Start
710 W 4th Street, Carson City, NV 89703 - In the Student Services Building behind Bordewich Bray Elementary School
- Opening in August of 2024.
- Members must be between the ages of 9 months to 5 years.
- Hours of Operation: 6:30 AM - 5 PM, Monday - Friday
- Fees available upon request.
- Priority enrollment will be given to Carson City School District employees for this location. Spots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

COMING SOON: Wray Family Center Smart Start
990 Ironwood Drive, Minden, Nevada 89423 - Inside the Wray Family Clubhouse
- Opening in Fall of 2024.
- Members must be between the ages of 9 months to 5 years.
- Hours of Operation: 7 AM - 5 PM, Monday - Friday
- Fees available upon request.
- Priority enrollment will be given to Carson Valley Health employees for this location. Spots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
COMING SOON: Mountain Center Smart Start

- Member must be between the ages of 6 weeks to 5 years old.
