About Us

Who We Are

Boys & Girls Clubs are a safe place to learn, grow and thrive – all while having fun in a caring environment.

Serving some 1,800 youth, Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada provides a safe, structured and positive environment for young people after school, during holidays and summer vacation. Our many programs are designed to help youth create aspirations for the future, become responsible, caring citizens, and engage in positive behaviors to benefit their physical, intellectual and emotional well-being.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada is part of a nationwide network. Located in every state, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and U.S. military installations overseas, Boys & Girls Clubs are delivering proven programs to millions of young people every day.

History

Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada has been a cornerstone of the Carson City community since opening its doors in 1993. Serving some 2,000 youth, Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada provides a safe, structured and positive environment for young people after school, during holidays and summer vacation.

Previously located at its historic site on Stewart Street, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada moved to its new location on Russell Way in August 2009. This brand new building provides over 12,000 square feet of safe and modern programming space for the youth members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada.

In December 2015 the club added to its campus with the opening of the Carson City MAC (Multi-Purpose Athletic Center). This space, owned and operated by Carson City, provides Boys & Girls Club youth with an indoor space to practice, learn and engage in sports and physical activity of all kinds.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada will once again be adding to our campus in June 2016, when our brand new 6,500 square foot teen center opens to our teen population. This capital campaign project was made possible by a generous grant from the Pennington Foundation, matched by the generosity of our club sponsors and donors.
